Aramachi has nearly 400 years of history, having developed as a town of Koji (malted rice) in the Edo period.
Aramachi hopes to be bustling as a result of the establishment of the Tohoku Gakuin University Itsutsubashi campus in 2023.
The shopping district of Aramachi which connects past, present and future is located near central Sendai.
